Agua de Florida is one of the oldest and most well-known flower waters. It has been used for generations in different traditions for cleansing, purification, protection and ritual work.
It has a distinctive fragrance made from a blend of citrus, herbal, floral and spicy notes, including lemon, bergamot, neroli, lavender, rose, clove and cinnamon. When first applied, the citrus notes are more noticeable, followed by the warmer notes of clove and cinnamon.
In my own work, I use Agua de Florida as part of preparing and clearing my healing space. I use the mist with the intention of releasing energies that no longer belong in the space and creating an environment that feels clear, settled and supportive for healing.
I also use it during energy work, intuitively spraying it when I feel the space needs clearing or when a shift is taking place within the person. I find it can support the movement and release that may happen during a healing session. I don't use it in a fixed way; I allow my intuition to guide me as to when and how much to use.
For me, Agua de Florida is more than simply a flower water or fragrance. It is a tool I use together with intention. The scent, the mist and the intention behind its use all come together to help me create a space that feels clear, grounded and energetically prepared.
Agua de Florida is used by both women and men, and many of my clients also use it as part of their own personal practice.
